Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

From tourists: your name, email, phone number, and the trip details you post (pickup, destination, dates, passenger count, special requirements). When you book, we collect payment information through our payment processor. Rymgo does not store your full card number.

From drivers: national ID, driving licence, vehicle registration, passenger liability insurance, vehicle photos, and spoken languages, all collected as part of driver verification.

Automatically: basic device and usage information (browser type, pages visited, general location from IP) to keep the site working and to understand how it's used.

When you post a trip request, we save with it how you first reached our website on that visit — the page you landed on, the website that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link — so we can see which pages and channels bring travellers to Rymgo. We keep this record ourselves and do not pass it to anyone else.

2. How we use it

• To match your journey with verified drivers and process your booking
• To process payment and hold it in escrow until your trip is complete
• To verify driver identity and documents before a profile goes live
• To contact you about your booking, or relay a message between you and your driver
• To respond to disputes or support requests
• To improve the site

3. What we share, and with whom

Your driver sees your first name and pickup details once you book. Rymgo never shares your phone number with your driver. Once the cancellation window on your booking closes, you receive your driver's phone number.

We share payment information with our payment processor to process your transaction. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect the safety of a tourist, driver, or the platform.

4. How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as your account is active, and for up to 6 years afterward to meet standard tax and accounting obligations in Sri Lanka.

We keep driver verification documents (national ID, licence, vehicle registration, insurance) for as long as a driver's profile is active on Rymgo, and for up to 1 year after a driver leaves the platform to handle any outstanding disputes or compliance checks. After that, they're deleted.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@rymgo.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time. Deleting your account doesn't remove records we're required to keep for legal or financial reasons (for example, completed booking and payment records, per Section 4).

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technology for two purposes: keeping you logged in, and understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; turning them off may affect how parts of the site work for you.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including restricting who can access driver verification documents and tourist contact details before a booking is confirmed.

8. International visitors

Rymgo is based in Sri Lanka, and most bookings involve tourists from overseas. Because we operate from Sri Lanka, your information is processed and stored here, which may be outside your home country. By using Rymgo, you agree to your information being processed in Sri Lanka. We apply the same security practices in Section 7 regardless of where you're visiting from.

9. Children

Rymgo is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
